Abdominal Ultrasound Training Course from Advanced Health Education Center
If you are a healthcare professional with an interest in abdominal ultrasound, Advanced Health Education Center (AHEC) offers a three-day course that can improve your skills and confidence in performing abdominal procedures. At our campus in Houston, Texas, we offer an abdominal ultrasound course based on American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) protocols. This course will cover the protocols involved with performing an ultrasound on the following areas:
- Abdomen
- Liver
- Gall bladder
- Kidneys
- Spleen
- Abdominal vessels
- Pancreas
- Thyroid
- Scrotum
- Appendix
Our course will also address soft tissue applications and the abdominal doppler, which are critical aspects of abdominal ultrasound.
Our Abdominal Ultrasound Training Course Structure
AHEC has structured our abdominal ultrasound training course in a way that covers all the bases. During this three-day course, participants will gain experience through lecture, case studies and faculty supervised, hands on scanning. This format allows each participant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge, skill and confidence needed to independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound.
Our course structure of lecture and hands-on scanning ensures that everyone has abundant opportunity to practice abdominal ultrasound in a clinical lab setting. Live models will be our ultrasound subjects, which is just one thing that sets AHEC abdominal ultrasound training apart from other courses. If you wish to have more hands-on scanning, we offer additional Private Ultrasound Tutorials that allow for all day hands-on scanning.

Our hands-on abdominal ultrasound training course is an ideal educational opportunity for an individual or group of staff members. You can attend instruction at our 12,000 square foot facility in Southwest Houston, which is conveniently located near a major airport for out-of-town participants - or, we can perform the training for your staff at your ultrasound equipped facility or practice.
Our instructors are physicians and/or professionals that are credentialed to teach and contribute to the content of each course; whether you need them for your skill set enhancement or Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit.
The Advanced Health Education Center is accredited by the Association Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education to physicians. Each course will have a CME designation based on its length.
